The W.A.I.T. program is designed to encourage corporate landowners to integrate wildlife habitat needs into corporate land management decisions. This is accomplished by matching site employees who are interested in wildlife with community partners to develop habitat plans.
We have worked with the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and the National Wild Turkey Federation to integrate wildlife habitat needs into our land management decisions.
This program allows us to have a positive impact on our environment while enhancing our environmental awareness.
Partnering with organizations such as the Boy Scouts and the Boys and Girls Club of Timmonsville, we have implemented several wildlife projects on our property.
As a result of those partnerships and projects, we received W.A.I.T. certification in July 2009.
Some of our projects include:
Installing a Carolina Fence and Butterfly Garden
Setting up food plots
Installing bird feeders and houses
Stocking an onsite pond with fish
